After a disappointing defeat in the UEFA Champions League, there is nothing quite like some classic footage to lift the mood of the supporters. On 13th March 2012, Liverpool defeated their local rivals Everton 3-0 thanks to a Steven Gerrard hat-trick – and via the club’s Twitter account, fans were able to relive that fantastic night.
Gerrard scored twice with his weaker left foot that night and marked his 400th Premier League appearance for the Anfield giants in style (as per Sky Sports). Here is how some of the supporters have responded to the footage.

What do we think?
Steven Gerrard went on to make 710 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 186 goals and providing 115 assists (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). He captained the side to Champions League glory in the 2004/05 season as well as a number of domestic trophies, cementing his place in the history books as an Anfield legend.
In a week where the club’s hopes of retaining their European crown went up in smoke, this footage will be sure to put a smile back on the faces of the Liverpool fans, even if only temporarily.
