Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to reflect on Sadio Mane’s time at the Merseyside club.
This comes after Liverpool journalist Henry Jackson shared a post on his Twitter page asking his followers which current Reds player has proved their initial thoughts wrong the most.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who chose Mane as a player that had changed their opinions more than any other player.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans discussing Mane’s time at Anfield:
Come on then, which current Liverpool player has proved your initial opinion wrong the most.
I was convinced Lovren was a great signing back in 2014…

Mane. I thought it was ridiculous money to spend on a back then a proper winger when we didnt really have a striker.

The winger, who is currently valued at £135 million according to Transfermarkt, joined the Reds back in the 2016 summer transfer window from fellow Premier League club Southampton for a fee of £37.08 million. Since arriving at Anfield, Mane has gone on to score 77 goals and provide 34 assists in his 161 appearances for the club in all competitions (per Transfermarkt). Now that the question has been asked as to which Liverpool player has changed the fans’ opinions the most, these Liverpool supporters were quick to point out Mane as a player that has exceeded their initial expectations.
Sadio, wasn’t convinced when we signed him that he was that good. Felt like we’d overpaid massively. Only took a few preseason games to change my opinion though

Mané. Fee looked ridiculous to me back then, plus I wanted a fancier player ?

What do we think?
It’s good to see these Liverpool fans correcting themselves on their original doubts over Mane and his ability. The fact that they have pointed out the winger as a player that has changed their initial opinions just shows how much Mane has progressed as a player since joining the Merseyside club.
