Some Leicester City fans have been sharing feelings of dejection on social media following the news that Ricardo Pereira is set to miss the remainder of the 2019/20 season due to injury.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that right-back Pereira is set to miss “the rest of the season” after suffering an ACL injury

Pereira has been one of Leicester’s best players this season, achieving an overall average rating of 7.50 from his 28 Premier League appearances this season, according to WhoScored.com. Pereira is currently Leicester City’s highest-rated player for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

The Portuguese international has also made an impressive total of 4.3 tackles per game for the Foxes in the Premier League this season, which is a higher number of tackles per game than any other Leicester player has made this term.

Some Leicester City fans have been reacting on social media to the news of Pereira’s recent ACL injury. Read the devastated reactions of some Foxes supporters in the tweets below.

What do we think?

In addition to being one of Leicester’s best performers this season, Pereira has also been one of the Foxes’ most heavily featured players this year. The right-back has accumulated a total of 2,970 minutes of game time for the Foxes in all competitions.

Only three Leicester players have played a higher total of minutes than Pereira in all competitions. It may be fair to say that the 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £36m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, will be missed by the Foxes for the remainder of the season, given his considerable contributions for Leicester City so far during the 2019/20 campaign.
