Some Leicester City fans have been sharing praise for Wilfred Ndidi’s performance in Monday evening’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa on social media.
The Foxes earned their first win in five Premier League games in resounding fashion as they claimed a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in this past Monday’s Premier League fixture. Leicester’s recent 4-0 win over Aston Villa saw midfielder Wilfred Ndidi play a total of 83 minutes before being substituted for Nampalys Mendy, in what was only his fourth Premier League appearance of 2020.
The Nigerian international originally picked up a knee injury on the eighth of January, which subsequently saw him miss Leicester’s Premier League losses to both Southampton and Burnley. Ndidi returned to action to help Leicester defeat West Ham on the 22nd of January, however, the midfielder missed another three Premier League games for The Foxes, following his performance against West Ham.
Ndidi earned a rating of 7.1 for his performance in Monday’s Premier League game, according to WhoScored.com. The midfielder made an impressive total of four tackles and three interceptions while playing at the base of Leicester City’s midfield in Monday’s game.
The 23-year-old midfielder took to social media after Monday’s game with Aston Villa to share praise for Leicester’s fans for their support during their recent Premier League fixture. Plenty of Foxes supporters responded to Ndidi’s recent post to welcome the midfielder back to action following his recent injury issues. Read the positive replies from some Leicester fans in response to Ndidi’s recent post-match message in the tweets below.

What do we think?
Leicester City have failed to win each of the five Premier League games that Ndidi has missed due to injury so far in 2020, losing three of them. Despite experiencing a drop in form in recent weeks, The Foxes currently remain in third-place on the Premier League table.
It may not be a coincidence that Leicester got back to winning ways on Monday, in the same game that saw Ndidi play a higher number of minutes than he had played in any of Leicester’s Premier League games since the first of January.
The Nigerian midfielder, who is currently valued at £40.5 million by Transfermarkt.co.uk, has achieved an average overall rating of 7.36, according to WhoScored.com, for his 23 Premier League appearances this season. This is the second-highest average rating that has been given to any Leicester player in the 2019/20 campaign, trailing only Ricardo Pereira. If Ndidi is now back to full fitness, he may provide a big boost to Leicester City’s hopes of achieving Champions League qualification.
