Aston Villa fans have been pleading on Twitter for the club to not replace current manager Dean Smith with Sam Allardyce.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @VillaTil1Die shared a post on their page asking their followers if they would take Allardyce until the end of the season in Smith’s place.
Who would you rather see manage Villa until the end of the season?
Sam Allardyce
Dean Smith
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were adamant they would not want to see Allardyce in the dugout at Villa Park for the remainder of the season.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Serious question: Would you take Big Sam until the end of the season? #AVFC pic.twitter.com/6rQVNYgp7X

The former England manager is currently without a club after leaving fellow Premier League side Everton in 2018 (per Transfermarkt). This question of Allardyce replacing Smith as Villa boss comes after the Birmingham club fell to their 17th defeat of the season after a 4-0 thrashing away at Leicester City on Monday. After this question was asked after the defeat, many Villa fans were not taken with the idea of Allardyce returning to management with their club.
NO…… Give Smith time to rebuild. Lets face it we all knew we went up a season to early, as great as it was and was needed financially, was still too soon IMO. #AVFC #utv

Can’t believe it’s being thought about ?

Nope, the project is underway let it run its course. IF the board are going to twist specifically to maintain Premier League status then Tony Pulis is the answer over Big Sam.

What do we think?
With Villa currently sitting in the relegation zone of the Premier League table, it’s understandable that the Villa fans have been asking questions of Smith and thinking of a possible replacement for him. But from these replies, it appears that Allardyce would not be a popular choice.
