George Byers underwent surgery this week after suffering an injury against Derby County earlier in the month. The player suffered an ankle sprain during the match and is set to sit out the rest of the season

Byers happily confirmed that the procedure was a success. He shared this news on Twitter with his fans.

When the player posted the news, fans quickly wished him a speedy recovery.

What do we think?

Swans fans will miss Byers’ presence in the team. He has already played 33 games this season for Steve Cooper. In those matches, he has managed to score five goals and register one assist.

Byers, who is valued at £450k (as per Transfermarkt), became an important figure in Graham Potter’s team last season and has only become more established under his new boss this year.

The 23-year-old’s absence could be a huge setback for the Swans, however, it does pave the way for Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher to fight for a spot in the team.
