Sunderland’s 2020 form has been nothing short of miraculous. In their 10 games since the new year, the Black Cats have lost just once. They have won seven and drawn twice.
It is an incredible turn around from their form at the end of 2019.
Sunderland’s goalkeeper, Jon McLaughlin, has been a big part of the team’s success, letting in just two goals in his last eight games, keeping seven clean sheets. This statistic was shared online by Sunderland’s Twitter account.
It is an impressive record for any goalkeeper, but the tweet from Sunderland indicates that this is the best clean sheet record in 2020 in all of England’s top four leagues.
But these statistics have Sunderland fans questioning why the team haven’t offered the keeper a new contract. His contract is currently set to expire in the summer.
Why not offer him a new contract then?

Almost worthy of a contract wouldn’t you think?

Will Jon McLaughlin sign a new contract with Sunderland?
Yes
No
What do we think?
McLaughlin has only recorded 10 clean sheets this season. It shows, not only how good his form is recently, but also how much better Sunderland have become defensively since the new year.
