Earlier this week, Rangers managed to advance to the next round of the UEFA Europa League after beating Braga in both legs of their round-of-32 tie

However, their Glasgow rivals weren’t as lucky. The Hoops looked to be in control of their tie after travelling home with an away goal after their first-leg match.

The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw against FC Copenhagen, but the Danish team beat Celtic 3-1 to advance to the next round.

Rangers fans were left amused after Sheffield United’s Oli McBurnie posted a tweet that appeared to mock Celtic’s loss. While his tweet never directly referenced Celtic, its meaning was fairly clear to anyone who knows that McBurnie is a Rangers fan. The tweet was posted right after Celtic’s game ended.

What do we think?

McBurnie will be hoping that he will be playing in Europe next season himself. The Blades are currently just one point off fifth in the English Premier League and level on points with sixth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

With Manchester City’s facing a ban from UEFA competitions for the next two season, Sheffield United’s odds of qualifying for entry into either the Europa League or Champions League next season could be even higher.

For now, however, McBurnie will just enjoy teasing Celtic with his fellow Rangers fans.
