After Rangers completed an incredible comeback against Braga at Ibrox, they held a slight lead heading into the second leg. However, with Braga having scored two away goals, even a 1-0 win for the Portuguese side would have been enough to send them through to the Round of 16.
That’s why Ryan Kent’s goal in the 61st minute of the second leg was so important. It meant that Braga needed to score at least two more goals if they wanted to progress.
On Thursday @RangersFACTS posted a brilliant video of a Spanish commentator reacting to the goal. The commentator exploded with excitement after Kent’s shot hit the back of the net.
When Rangers fans saw this video they thought it was great. However, they questioned why Scottish commentators don’t show a similar level of excitement when Rangers score. One fan even thought that Rob McLean sounded upset on the English commentary.

How do foreign commentators get so much more excited about a team they probably don’t know much about, than Scottish ones?

Meanwhile we have Rob McLean sounding gutted when we scored.
Lost count the amount of times he got our players names wrong last night.
At one point I’m sure he said Hagi plays it into Hagi.

Would you like to see more Spanish commentators cover Rangers games?
Si senor!
No thanks
What do we think?
With Rangers playing Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16, fans may have the opportunity to compare their domestic commentators to their German counterparts. For now, however, it seems like their preference is Spanish.
