Back in late December, Rangers announced a partnership with USL’s Orange County SC. The partnership was formed as a way for Rangers and Orange County to mutually benefit from each other in regards to player development and commercial activities. Part of the player development plan was for Rangers to send players over to the American team on loan for some experience playing overseas.
This week, the club announced who the first players to make the move to the Land of Opportunity were. Cammy Palmer, Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels are all being shipped over. All three players are currently 19 years of age and will hopefully benefit from the exchange massively. When the club tweeted the news, the Gers fans shared their high hopes for the lads and thought the semester abroad would be beneficial.
Amazing opportunity for the three of them. Great for their development in lots of ways.

Do you think these players will benefit from USL game time?
Yes
No
What do we think?
The trio will join the American side for the 2020 USL season, which spans from March until November. Rangers’ press release claims that the USL is one of, if not the fastest-growing second divisions in professional football. The experience should be an incredible one for the young Gers who will likely have high hopes of playing first-team football at Ibrox in the not-so-distant future.
