After an extraordinary comeback during their midweek clash against Braga, Rangers fans will be left frustrated with yet another winless result in the league. After conceding an early goal to St. Johnstone in the eighth minute, Florian Kamberi and Joe Aribo put the Gers 2-1 up. However, a late equaliser from Stevie May meant the match ended in a draw.
The draw is Rangers’ fourth match without a win in 2020. This has resulted in the side dropping 10 points in the league, allowing Celtic to take a 12-point lead in Scottish Premiership.
It is a gargantuan gap for the Gers to overcome, even with their game in hand.
One of the players who contributed to the result was Nikola Katic. Fans slated him, suggesting that he was at fault for St. Johnstone’s goal.
As soon as May scored his 80th-minute equaliser, many Gers fans blamed the Croatian.
Katic needs his next mid season rest.. been awful

Gotta ask should katic be dropped for Wednesday as he’s been a nightmare today.

Who would you start with Goldson over Katic?
Edmundson
Helander
It wasn’t just his involvement in the last goal that disappointed fans. They thought his overall performance was sub-par.
Katic the biggest hype job known to man.
There’s a reason why he was dropped for Worrall, Helander and Edmundson at various stages.
Brainless.

Thats a rangers career ending performance from katic. Sold the 2 goals. Simple defending. He needs to be dropped or sold. Just not good enough

Watching Katic and Goldson deal with long balls today is so reminiscent of Svensson and Hemdani

When Katic is bringing the ball towards the centre circle but turns on to his right and squares it back to Goldson for the 15th time. pic.twitter.com/4SC8Mu1TvI

We will never do anything with players like Halliday, Katic & Tav. Sorry but that’s a fact.

Another supporter believes Katic single-handedly handed Celtic the title yesterday.
Biggest cheer at celtic park was when rangers conceded. Because they know fine well they won the league today and they can single handily congratulate katic for that.

What do we think?
It is clear that the fans are frustrated with the Ibrox star’s performance. Perhaps Steven Gerrard will heed the fans’ demands and replace him during their second-leg Europa League clash on Wednesday?
It would be a big call from Gerrard, with Katic outscoring his centre-back partner Connor Goldson during the first leg, achieving a WhoScored match rating of 6.47/10.
