While getting three points was likely the only thing Rangers fans truly expected from their match against Hibernian, there were a few extra treats. Ianis Hagi scored his first goal for the club, and James Tavernier returned from what was once believed to be a serious injury.
But Steven Gerrard started Tavernier in the match, allowing his captain to regain a bit of fitness. The English right-back played the full 90 minutes and was clearly thrilled to be back. He tweeted out to fans after the game, sharing his excitement. The supporters were thrilled to see him with the armband around his arm again. Here are a few examples of what fans had to say.

Do you think Tavernier played a big part in the win?
Yes
No
Some fans think he makes an incredibly positive difference to the team when he is playing. One supporter even points out how important his impact was on the first goal, as his cross into the box led to the ball eventually falling at George Edmundson’s feet.
What a difference you make to that team! Much better team performance second half

Missed you captain but can you start giving refs a hard time! Get the rest of the team to back you up as well. We’re getting cheated with some decisions and it looks as thought the players are just accepting it.

What do we think?
Having Tavernier back should be a huge boost for the Gers side. The £5.4 million-rated man’s presence will hopefully push the side on to go on a winning streak, both in the league and in cup competitions.
