Yesterday, Rangers FC announced that the club was entering the market for a new kit and retail partner. The Glasgow club is looking to make the replacement for the 2020/21 season and beyond, according to the statement released on their website late Wednesday night.
The statement also indicates that the opportunity will be unique for the company who eventually partners with the Gers, as Rangers will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2022.
Rangers’ current kit supplier is Hummel, however, the side have been forced to look for an alternative partner after they were ordered to end their current deal by a judge.
When the club posted their intentions to seek out a new partner on Twitter, a few fans admitted that Adidas was their frontrunner.

Which manufacturer would you like to see Rangers partner with?
Adidas
Nike

However, some fans aren’t as excited by the news. One believes that the quest for a new partner could be a fruitless search. They fear the worst.
Gutted man the Hummel kits are the best kits we’ve had in decades and probably the most consistent kit producer we’ve ever had. Not a single poor design.

People seem to be getting excited about this, I on the other hand have the fear. Rangers entered into an agreement with Hummel and subsequently renamed our training centre. After yet more court battles are we really an appealing proposition for the likes of Adidas?

Shame about the Hummel deal. Liked the kits they did!

What do we think?
If the club are only just announcing their intentions to look for a new partner right now, it could be a while before the eventual company is picked.
Only time will tell before fans know which brand’s jersey they will be wearing to each game next season.
