Rangers fans have a lot to be excited about regarding their midweek fixture against Braga this Thursday. The Portuguese club will travel to Ibrox for their UEFA Europa League Round of 32 clash.
But while European football might be enough to get any normal fan excited, there will be an added bit of excitement for these Gers fans. VAR will be utilised for the first time at Ibrox during the match.
The news had many Rangers fans excited. There have been a few cries for VAR to be introduced to Scottish football already this season, with Steven Gerrard himself calling for its introduction after his side lost in the Scottish League Cup Final to an offside Celtic goal.
The supporters are excited to see its implementation, assuming there aren’t any Scottish referees behind the VAR screens.
So refreshing to know there won’t be any inept Scottish referees to ruin the game

Just as long as Clancy, Madden, Collum, or whoever reffed the Killie or Livi games isn’t in charge of monitoring the screens.

Would have loved it in a few previous games to this… But I’m excited to see how it goes on Thursday

We have VAR already in Scotland “Very Angry Referees” because it’s us….

Should be in place for the whole tournament not just from the knock out stages.

Will VAR play a big part in Rangers vs Braga?
Yes
No
One supporter thinks the league table would look a lot different if VAR had been implemented in Scottish football this season.
Would be interesting to run VAR on our games this season. We would have the League Cup in our Trophy Room & quite possibly be top of the league

However, given the club’s shaky start to 2020, this fan isn’t confident about his team’s chances, even with VAR.
Take more than VAR for a result for us on Thursday. Might need a lawyer. And messi in disguise to be in with a chance. Hope am wrong though.

What do we think?
Hopefully, VAR provides a sense of fairness to the Thursday night match, an element many Rangers fans feel has been absent from their previous domestic games this season.
Luckily the Gers have a fairly decent record in Europe this season, having only lost one match in the UEFA Europa League Group Stages.
