A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from the Evening Chronicle asking them if they would sign Jetro Willems in the summer.
This comes after Mark Douglas sat down for an exclusive interview with the 25-year-old, and Willems confirmed that he would like to come back to the Toon in the summer once he has fully recovered from his cruciate knee ligament injury.
Would you have Willems back at Newcastle in the summer?
Yes, he was fantastic
No, needs to prove his fitness first
Judging by the responses to the tweet, the feeling is mutual, with many Newcastle fans wanting to see Willems back in a black and white shirt next year.
'Of course I'd talk to Newcastle about coming back, the club feels like home'
That's today's big question in our live blog – would you give Jetro Willems a permanent deal in the summer?

10000% yea. Loan Contract has option to buy for £10mill I believe. I’d have taken that option in January

Other Toon supporters, though, want to see how he recovers from his injury before deciding to bring him back to St James’ Park.
Not until he’s proved his fitness again. Sounds harsh but it’s a really serious injury and we could end up with a player on 40k+ for 4-5 years who isn’t the same.

Only if his club doesn’t jack up his value. If he is not wanted a Frankfurt, he is more than welcome to NUFC.

Given his loan has been ended early I’m assuming that means we forfeit the agreed fee option? Which was around 7 million, an absolute steal the way he was playing. No doubt now the price will be more and “we’ll have the plate spinning” but “couldn’t get it over the line” ?

What do we think?
The Dutch international made 19 Premier League appearances where he scored two goals and provided a further two assists – until a cruciate knee injury ended his season.
The 25-year-old also clearly fell in love with Tyneside and, by his own admission, would love to be back at St James’ Park next season.
