Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting on social media to comments made by West Brom manager Slaven Bilic, who claimed that Forest are “dreaming” of thinking they can reach the automatic promotion places this season.
Forest, who currently occupy fifth place in the Championship, are six points behind second-placed Leeds, and 10 points behind leaders West Brom.
However, the Reds’ last victory came four games ago, in their 2-0 win against promotion rivals Leeds. In the time since, Sabri Lamouchi’s side have lost 1-0 at home to Charlton, drawn 2-2 away at West Brom, and drawn 0-0 with QPR, picking up just two points from a possible nine, and severely damaging their hopes of automatic promotion.
However, according to West Brom manager Bilic, it is easier to be in the chasing pack rather than the top two. As per Birmingham Live, he stated: “It is much easier to be third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh than first or second. They are dreaming. If you read about Forest, they are dreaming they are hoping to get in the top two.”
In reaction to his comments, Forest fans replied somewhat lightheartedly, with many actually agreeing with the former West Ham boss.

He’s spot on, not surprising really when you look at the #nffc squad, did well with our first eleven but as we suspected are finding things a bit more difficult with injuries and loss of form to key players.

He’s right post-january window. We didn’t strengthen to have realistic hopes of improving our 1.64 points per game average. #NFFC

Not wrong. Absolutely bitter test though

About right. I said we’d finish about 12th. Now I’m thinking we could make the playoffs and win them.

he’s not wrong, but dreams do happen & we have the squad and manager available to get automatics, we just need to have a back bone when sow isn’t there

What do we think?
Following their 2-0 victory over Leeds at the beginning of February, Nottingham Forest occupied fourth place in the Championship table, just one point behind second-placed United, and only five behind leaders West Brom.
However, in the time since the Leeds win, Forest have picked up just two points from a possible nine, and although they remain in fifth place, they are now six points adrift of Leeds and 1o points behind West Brom, who remain second and first respectively.
In other words, Forest need to start winning games, and quickly, if they are to stand any chance of automatic promotion this year.
