Celtic signed Larsson in the summer of 1997 and left the club for Barcelona in the summer of 2004. Both transfers happened for free, as per Transfermarkt.
During his time at Parkhead, Larsson had won the Scottish Premiership title on as many as four occasions, also winning the Scottish League Cup twice, becoming the club’s highest scorer in a single season five times.
The forward made as many as 56 appearances in European competitions for Celtic, scoring 33 times and racking up an impressive tally of 11 assists as well.
What do we think?
Larsson certainly was a Celtic legend, considering how he had won numerous trophies at the club, while the comments are understandably leaving the Hoops fans emotional, with the 2003 final a unique chance for Celtic and Larsson to win a major European title.
