Some Celtic fans have been left lauding the club’s latest tweet about outcast Marian Shved.
Shved recently featured in the Celtic Academy side’s game against Aberdeen Reserves. The Ukrainian also found the back of the net in the game, contributing to the 4-0 win on the day.
Should Shved start over Forrest soon?
Shved deserves a chance
Forrest is miles better
When the club’s Twitter account posted about Shved scoring his goal, it left many Hoops fans raving. Some even made it clear that they want him to play in the first team soon.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Neil Lennon continues to snub this excellent young talent. He’s a top class player who has proved he can do damage to opposition teams even in the Champions League. Why is Lennon saying he’s not fit when he clearly is?

Shved joined Celtic from Ukraine-based side Karpaty Lviv in January 2019 when he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.
However, this season, Shved has made just one Premiership appearance. He has also made one appearance each in the Champions League and the Scottish Cup for the Hoops. He already has one goal to his name, coming against Kalju Nomme in the Champions League qualifiers.
For Lviv last season, he had scored 15 goals in 26 appearances. He also had four assists to his name.
What do we think?
Shved’s goal for the academy side is a big positive for the Hoops. It shows that the player could be slowly getting into the run of games that he needs. If he keeps playing regularly for the academy side and keeps scoring, he will be closer to first-team football than he currently is.
