Some Celtic fans have been reacting to the substitution of Scott Brown in their recent Europa League game against Copenhagen.
Brown earned a Whoscored rating of 6.6 having started the match in Denmark, but was taken off by Neil Lennon in the 73rd minute, with Nir Bitton coming on for him.
Is McGregor the successor to Scott Brown?
Absolutely, he's the man
No, Brown is a different animal
However, some Celtic fans felt that the team didn’t play as well without the Hoops veteran. CelticMatchworn posted their concerns on Twitter and many fans agreed.
Looked a mess when he went off…

Most sense I’ve heard all night, all over the shop when he went off

CalMac is not his replacement

CelticGossip posted about the same thing and got a similar reaction from the Hoops faithful.

Midfield been v poor this half. Without broony we will be a shadow of this team

Terrible 2nd half, they need to remember that it’s 90 mins and not 45 mins in a game of football

Per Whoscored, Brown won two tackles and also won three aerial duels during the game. The Scot, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), also made a couple of clearances. In the Europa League so far, he has won 2.5 tackles per game and also has a tally of 1.8 interceptions per game for the side.
What do we think?
For players who have played over three games in the Europa League for the Hoops, Brown has won the third-highest number of tackles per game (2.5). Meanwhile, he is third for the number of interceptions per game.
It shows the impact he brings to the team’s midfield in Europe.
