Some Celtic fans have been discussing the curious situation of the club’s outcast Maryan Shved in light of Neil Lennon’s latest comments.
Recently, Neil Lennon suggested that Shved may not be part of the club’s Europa League squad with the Round of 32 of the competition coming up. But Lennon also revealed his reasons for why Shved may make way for others on the European roster.
Is Shved good enough for Celtic?
He was never good enough
Yes, Lennon will give him a chance
Hoops-related page CelticBible relayed Lennon’s comments and that got many Celtic fans talking. They have varying opinions about the situation of the Ukrainian.
Give the lad a chance remember a certain @StanPetrov19 at the beginning look how he turned out

Seems like one of the most bizarre signings in recent seasons. Rodgers didn’t want him either when he was manager.

Terrible trainer I heard

How much English did Nakamura speak? I doubt our tactics are really that sophisticated.

So why not sell him or at worse, loan him out – mainland Europe – rather than have him paid, train, sit (and not on bench)?

I think Lenny is saying the lad isn’t putting it in at training. That was the rumour months ago

Shved, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), had joined Celtic from the Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv in January 2019 when he had signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club. He had gone back to his former club for the remainder of the previous season.
Shved has played only 35 minutes of first-team football for the Hoops this season. He already has one goal and it came in the club’s Champions League qualifying game against Kalju Nomme in the second qualifying round of the competition.
What do we think?
For the Hoops this season, James Forrest has been a regular on the right side of the midfield. The Hoops youth product has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the club, with 25 of them coming on the right side of the pitch.
Because of Forrest being established in the position that Shved usually plays, it will tough to break into the side for the Ukrainian. But as Lennon says, he has to keep working hard.
