Some Celtic fans have been left delighted by the latest transfer news about Southampton loanee Fraser Forster.
The Athletic’s Carl Anka recently posted an update about Forster in a Q&A session on The Athletic website. The reporter revealed that Forster is willing to take a pay-cut to join Celtic and the chances of him staying at Parkhead next season are ‘pretty good’.
Can Celtic afford the transfer fee for Forster?
I'm afraid we can't
We surely can
Hoops-related page CelticBible relayed what Anka had to say and this caught the attention of many Celtic fans on Twitter. They made their opinions known below the post.

Forster joined Celtic on a loan deal from Southampton in the summer. Since joining, Forster has made 35 appearances in all competitions for the club. He has kept a total of 15 clean sheets, conceding just 23 goals.
Last season had seen Forster make just a single Premier League appearance for the Saints. He had been restricted to playing for the club’s Under-23s side, having played three times in the Premier League 2 for them.
What do we think?
Considering Forster’s current deal at Southampton runs out in the summer of 2022, Celtic may have to pay a substantial fee to bring him back to Parkhead for good. However, Forster taking a wage cut may improve his chances of a deal. In that case, the Hoops could yet sign him in the summer.
