Some Bristol City fans have shared their criticism of manager Lee Johnson on social media following their 3-0 loss to West Brom in Saturday’s Championship fixture.

Bristol City suffered a resounding 3-0 loss to Championship leaders West Brom this past Saturday. The Robins accumulated a higher percentage of the possession than West Brom, according to WhoScored.com.

However, they struggled to turn their possession dominance into shots on goal this past weekend. The Robins hit the target with just one of their seven shots in Saturday’s game. Meanwhile, The Baggies forged out a total of 17 shots versus Bristol City, hitting the target with eight of them.

Saturday’s game gave Bristol City their second straight Championship loss, having lost 1-0 versus second-placed Leeds United the previous weekend. Following their two straight losses, the Robins now sit three points off the Championship play-offs, in seventh place in the table.

Some Bristol City supporters have been critical of manager Lee Johnson on Twitter following Saturday’s heavy defeat at home to West Brom. Read the critical posts from some Bristol City fans in the tweets below.

What do we think?

Johnson became the Bristol City manager in February 2016, with the club sitting in 22nd place in the Championship table, battling relegation. The 38-year-old manager signed a four-year contract extension in May 2019, having guided the Robins to an eighth-place finish last season.

Johnson has seen the Robins improve during his time as manager. The club now sit in seventh place, battling to get into the play-offs – in stark contrast to the position they were in when he took over four years ago. While recent results haven’t been great, it may be harsh to criticise Johnson so much considering how much the Robins have improved during his time at the club.
