The arrival of Ianis Hagi has been a brilliant piece of business for Steven Gerrard. He has already featured in seven matches for the Gers since joining on loan in January, scoring three goals and assisting another.
These statistics aren’t mind-blowing by any means, but they do suggest that Hagi is capable of popping up on a semi-regular basis with goal contributions.
The highlight of his time at Rangers so far is almost definitely last week’s match against Braga, where the Romanian bagged a brace to help complete an epic comeback in the UEFA Europa League.
However, many Rangers fans feel like the player would be able to contribute with goals and assists more regularly if utilised the proper way. They implore Steven Gerrard to use the player in a more central area.
Manager started with the wrong formation today and played hagi out wide when he is clearly better in the middle. Katic should take significant blame but he wasn’t the only one at fault.

Hagi will get moved to the middle of the park, and we’ll win. Why he doesn’t start there, is absolutely baffling.

Hagi needs to play centrally to get the best out of him

Will Gerrard play Hagi centrally against Braga on Wednesday?
Yes
No
What do we think?
These fans clearly think that Hagi has the potential to change this current Rangers side for the better. They insist, however, that positioning will play a big part in just how effective he can be.
