Fans of West Ham United have reacted to a rumour that the club was interested in bringing Dimitri Payet back to east London in January.
According to L’Equipe, the Hammers were prepared to pay €20 million (£16.9m) to bring the Frenchman back to the London Stadium, but the player was not keen on the move (via West Ham News), which some fans could not blame him for.

No one can blame Payet from wanting to return to West Ham – no professional player who has a decent career and prospects going forward would want to come to a club like West Ham that is so poorly run and is currently being run into the ground. It’s a no-brainer.

What do we think?
This season, the 32-year-old attacker has scored ten goals and assisted five in 22 games in all competitions for his Ligue 1 club (per Transfermarkt), going to show that he still has ability.
However, considering the way he left the club (per The Guardian), what some fans clearly feel about him and that his market value is £11.25 million (per Transfermarkt), this one could be a little fabricated.
