Spurs fans were delighted to hear that reported transfer target Boubakary Soumare rejected interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Wolves, Chelsea and Newcastle United in January.
According to L’Equipe as per GetFootballNewsFrance (via Daily Hotspur), the Lille man rejected interest from some huge European clubs in the recent transfer window. Spurs have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old previously and now a lot of Spurs fans are convinced that he will be making the move to North London during the summer transfer window.
Soumare recently told L’Equipe that he wanted to stay at Lille, so it is no surprise that he made no attempt to leave the Ligue 1 club last month, despite the reported interest in him. The French midfielder is currently valued at £19.8 million by Transfermarkt and with Spurs’ assistant manager Joao Sacramento having worked with him during his time at Lille, a move to Tottenham could well be on the cards ahead of next season.
Do you think Soumare could join Spurs in the summer?

He’s waiting for the call from Sacramento. But once Luis Campos comes, he’ll 100% follow.

These Spurs fans are seemingly convinced that Soumare will be joining them in the summer transfer window.
What do we think?
It will be interesting to see if Soumare is still keen to stay with Lille if Spurs and other European clubs come knocking for him during the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old could certainly prove to be an excellent signing if the North London club can secure his services ahead of next season.
