Spurs fans have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho in the wake of their 1-0 defeat by RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Footage from the 57-year-old manager’s post-match press conference, which appears to be courtesy of Sky Sports News (via Football Daily), sees the Portuguese boss compare the current injury situation at Spurs to that of Barcelona or Liverpool missing their key players, saying: “Barcelona without Messi, Suarez & Griezmann? Or Liverpool no Salah, no Mane, no Firmino, but they would still have Origi.”
The North London club lost Heung-Min Son through injury earlier this week, whilst Harry Kane remains sidelined with the hamstring injury which he suffered in January. His side looked devoid of attacking options during their defeat against Julian Nagelsmann’s Bundesliga title hopefuls and recorded just five shots on target throughout the game.
Is Mourinho just making excuses for the poor performance against Leipzig?
Yes

These Spurs fans don’t seem too impressed with Mourinho’s ‘excuses’ for Wednesday night’s defeat, with some fans continuing to be baffled by the absence of Troy Parrott.
What do we think?
Spurs are of course missing their two top scorers in Kane and Son, which makes the Portuguese manager’s unwillingness to try Parrott even stranger. The Republic of Ireland international has shown that he has an eye for goal with the youth sides and recently signed a new contract, but he continues to be ignored by Mourinho despite their lack of attacking options.
