Spurs fans were frustrated to hear that Erik Lamela missed training on Wednesday due to an injury problem.
According to Standard Sport (via Daily Hotspur), both Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso did not take part in Wednesday’s training session due to injury, something which has annoyed a lot of Spurs fans on Twitter. Lamela, especially, has struggled with serious injury problems during his time at the North London club and has already spent a significant portion of this season on the sidelines; missing 12 games earlier in the season due to a hamstring problem.
The Argentinian international joined Spurs from Roma in 2013 but has made just 209 appearances for Spurs in nearly seven years at the club and it seems as if, after the news of his latest injury, many Spurs fans are ready to give up on the winger.

Lamela had a career ending injury and apparently as Poch put it was 50/50 to be able to carry on a few years back. They had to manage his pitch time when he did recover but it’s getting crazy now how many games he misses. Shame because he could offer a lot.

Lamela injured = no surprises. Always seems to be injured. Lo Celso injured = All Spurs fans worried. We don’t need another sick note player. We already have Lamela who seems to be glued to a treatment table most of the time

These Spurs fans are clearly not happy to hear the latest news on Lamela’s injury, with many suggesting that the 27-year-old should be let go in the summer.
What do we think?
Lamela has started just nine games in the Premier League so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.69 rating, so perhaps it is time for the North London club to cash in on the injury-prone £19.8 million rated man.
