Some Spurs fans were delighted to hear on Twitter this week that Juan Foyth is expected to push for a move away from the North London club this summer.

According to the Independent, the 22-year-old defender is likely to push for a move away from the club, with 20-year-old Japhet Tanganga having established himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side, meaning the Argentinian defender is further behind in the pecking order. Having signed for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino in 2017, the former Estudiantes man has gone on to make just 32 appearances for the North London club.

Despite his lack of appearances in England, Foyth has established himself as a regular in the Argentinian national side, playing predominantly as a right-back in his 11 caps thus far for Lionel Scaloni’s side. So far this season, the young defender has made just three starts for Spurs in all competitions, so it is no surprise to see him being linked with a move away in the summer.

Would you be happy to see Foyth leave permanently?

Reaction from Spurs fans to Foyth’s exit rumours can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t too disappointed to hear that Foyth could be leaving the club during the summer.

What do we think?

Foyth isn’t getting any real opportunity for first-team football at Spurs but is still only 22, so perhaps a loan move away would be best for the £13.5 million-rated man so he can show Mourinho what he is capable of.
