Spurs fans have flocked to a tweet from Toby Alderweireld after he sent a get well soon message to teammate Heung-Min Son.
The Belgian centre-back posted the tweet on Tuesday afternoon after Jose Mourinho revealed that the South Korean winger could miss the rest of the season with a fractured arm injury. The former Ajax man netted Spurs’ equaliser after scoring an own goal in the win at Aston Villa on Sunday, before two goals from Son, including a last-minute winner, sealed the three points.
Alderweireld has been a mainstay in the Spurs side this season; making 25 appearances in the Premier League; missing just one of Spurs’ games in the top flight. He committed his future to the North London club earlier this season by signing a new contract and fans were quick to praise the 30-year-old after his tweet on Son.
Who should play up front for the rest of the season?
Toby Alderweireld
Lucas Moura
Reaction from Spurs fans to Alderweireld’s tweet can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly upset by Son’s injury but many joked that they want to see Alderweireld play up front after he notched his first Spurs goal of the season at the weekend.
What do we think?
It was good to see Alderweireld pass on his get well soon wishes to Son, who will no doubt be a big miss for the North London club whilst he recovers from his injury, with the 27-year-old having contributed 16 goals and eight assists already this season.
