Liverpool fans have been responding on Twitter to comments made by Andy Robertson after the Reds’ defeat to Atletico Madrid.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their page relaying quotes made the full-back to BT Sport after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against the Spanish side.
In his post-match interview, Robertson claimed that Atletico “celebrated as if they’ve won the tie after the game.” In regards to the second-leg tie at Anfield the defender also added that they “know our fans will be there, we will be there. It’s up to Atletico to be there.”
Is Andy Robertson arrogant?
Yes
No
These comments from the Scottish international then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to have their say on the matter.

The 25-year-old played the entirety of the match in Madrid earning him a match rating of 6.7, the third-highest of any Liverpool player on the pitch (per WhoScored). Now that Robertson has claimed that the team and the fans will be ready to compete for a win in the second-leg tie against Diego Simeone’s side, many Reds fans have been praising the defender for his attitude.
Absolutely love this

This is so sad coming from this handle. It’s more sad people will read twitter news without confirming and jump to make silly comments. Check the damn interview before saying he’s overconfident and hell yes, he has every reason to be.

What do we think?
It’s clear from his comments that Robertson, who is valued at £72 million (as per Transfermarkt), is disappointed with the result in Madrid but ready and prepared for the second-leg tie at Anfield. This type of confidence will only fire up the Liverpool fans more for the next match.
