Spurs fans were shocked to see that they have been crowned the most loyal club in the Premier League.

Analysis from the Ticketgum (via TranSPURS), revealed that the North London club are statistically the most loyal side in the Premier League, closely followed by Manchester City. Spurs have several players in their squad that have been at the club for a number of years, including the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela and Hugo Lloris.

Meanwhile, the recent sale of Christian Eriksen to Inter during the January transfer window saw the 27-year-old finish on 305 appearances for the club during his six and a half years there.

Is it a good thing that Spurs are seemingly so loyal?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the stat can be seen in the tweets below.

Some of these Spurs fans saluted the loyalty of players, whilst others believe that could be the reason behind the poor start to the season, suggesting that the club has gone ‘stale’.

What do we think?

If Spurs lost Vertonghen in the summer when his contract expires and move on the injury-prone Lamela, then they will suddenly look a lot less loyal, but that is perhaps what needs to be done so Jose Mourinho can properly move on from the Mauricio Pochettino era.
