A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to an injury update on Joelinton after the Brazilian striker was substituted off in the 37th minute of the Toon’s 3-2 win over Oxford United.
The 23-year-old scored in the 30th minute and was clearly in pain and only lasted a further seven minutes before he was taken off, leaving Newcastle without a striker.
Will Newcastle miss Joelinton?
Yes
No
Steve Bruce confirmed after the match that Joelinton had suffered an upper-body injury, possibly a cracked rib.
This is not good news for the Toon, who could be without a striker for their trip to Arsenal in 11 days.
However, some Toon fans were not bothered about Joelinton’s injury.
Steve Bruce says Joelinton injury is to upper body. Possible cracked rib. #nufc

Other Newcastle supporters, though, were concerned for the former Hoffenheim man.

What do we think?
It was a shame that Joelinton had to go off after a solid start to the match that included a goal and an assist.
First, he picked up a ball from Miguel Almiron and played it back to Sean Longstaff, who fired into the top corner. (0:08)
He later received a pass from Longstaff and surged through on goal before slotting a finish into the far corner. (0:39)
This was just Joelinton’s third goal for the club, but hopefully, it will give him the confidence to continue scoring when he returns to the squad.
