Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest piece of transfer news surrounding Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

This comes after Liverpool fan account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their Twitter page relaying news originally published in a report by the Daily Mail.

The report claims that the Reds have informed the German club of their interest in bringing the Englishman to Merseyside in the summer, while Jurgen Klopp’s former side are said to be wanting £100 million in exchange for the winger.

Should Liverpool spend £100 million on Sancho?

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to share their immediate thoughts on this latest development.

One fan even suggested he could be the next Raheem Sterling and mentions him being awesome in local football but nothing in European games. Indeed, the Englishman struggled to produce in Europe during his time at Liverpool, as he produced just one assist in 18 games but bagged 18 goals and 21 assists in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old former Manchester City player is currently valued at a huge £108 million according to Transfermarkt. Since leaving England for Dortmund, Sancho has been nothing short of a revelation. Since making his debut for the Bundesliga side’s senior team, the winger has scored 29 goals and provided 40 assists in 84 appearances (per Transfermarkt).

Now that news has emerged that Liverpool are interested in taking the teenager back to England in the summer, some Reds fans have been sharing their thoughts over a potential big-money move.

What do we think?

Given the reported price tag for Sancho, perhaps Liverpool fans should be a bit sceptical over a move for the winger in the summer. With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah currently occupying the wing positions in Klopp’s side, Sancho would possibly have to compete with them for a place in the starting XI.
