Fans of Liverpool have been reacting to an image on Twitter showing the Manchester City players travelling to Madrid donning some questionable attire.
Manchester City faced Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday evening, with Pep Guardiola’s side bidding to win their first European silverware since the 1969/70 season, when they won the Cup Winners’ Cup.
Having reached the quarter-finals of the tournament last year, in which they dramatically lost out on away goals to Tottenham, City have given themselves a great chance of getting at least that far this year after stunning the Spanish giants at the Santiago Bernabeu last night.
However, the City players were on the wrong end of criticism from Liverpool fans before they had even took to the field, after images appeared on Twitter that highlighted the questionable attire of the players.
This is so much worse than the FFP cheating. https://t.co/UVxBbQQZwY

What do we think?
With City potentially facing a two-year ban from the Champions League having “seriously misled European football’s governing body and broken financial fair play rules”, perhaps their questionable choice of clothing is in some way meant to leave a mark on European football during their absence.
