Liverpool have been relentless this season, having dropped just two points since the start of the campaign. It’s now a case of when rather than if they will become Premier League champions for the first time. They are currently 22 points clear of last season’s winners Manchester City and an incredible 38 points clear of bitter rivals Manchester United.
Since Pep Guardiola arrived in the Premier League, his City side’s net spend is significantly more than that of Liverpool’s (according to Transfermarkt figures via the Anfield Edition) yet despite that, Jurgen Klopp’s side kept up with the pace last season and went on to win the UEFA Champions League.

What do we think?
Jurgen Klopp deserves immense credit for the job he’s done at Anfield but so do the club’s hierarchy, who have put their faith in the German from day one, supported him financially and created an environment perfect for success.
Although they missed out on the Premier League title last season by the narrowest of margins, the disappointment seems to have fuelled their push this season and we’re now looking at arguably one of the best teams in English football history.
