Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster joined Swansea City on loan for the remainder of the season last month in order to gain further experience and to prepare him for a fight for a starting place at Anfield in the not-so-distant future. The 19-year-old took part in the weekend’s Championship fixture between the Swans and Preston North End but he’s made the headlines for a somewhat unorthodox reason.
Brewster, having spotted the referee’s yellow card on the floor, picked it up and made his way over to Geoff Eltringham before brandishing the card as if he was in fact booking the official. Fortunately for the striker, everybody saw the funny side of it including these Liverpool fans.
Does Rhian Brewster have a future at Liverpool?

Although it was a light-hearted joke, some fans were keen to point out that former England star Paul Gascoigne was once shown a yellow card for doing something very similar.
Gascoigne got booked for doing that

Didn’t Gascoigne get booked for doing exactly the same years ago?!?!? Inconstistency demonstrated right there!

What do we think?
Rhian Brewster will be pleased to know humour is still well and truly alive in our sport. Meanwhile, since joining the Championship side he has started all of their league games and has already registered two goals.
