Supporters of Liverpool have reacted to quotes from Javier Mascherano where he compares his time at Barcelona against his time with Liverpool.
As shared by LFC Transfer Room over the weekend, originally posted by CNN, the Argentina midfielder stated he ‘would choose Liverpool’ over Barcelona as the Reds ‘represents’ him a lot.
During his time at Anfield, the 35-year-old played in Liverpool red 139 times, during which he scored two goals and assisted seven for teammates (per Transfermarkt).
However, these Reds fans were having none of it.

No one cares about him. As far as I’m concerned, not a Liverpool legend in my eyes or never will be.

There’s wanting to leave a sinking ship as some have put it and there’s faking illness to pull out of a league game against City at the last minute effectively going on strike and forcing LFC to agree to the transfer when there was absolutely no time to get in a replacement ????

Wish he thought of that when he went on strike to push through a move out of the club

What do we think?
Whatever fans think of the former Barcelona midfielder, it is clear to see that he holds his time at Anfield in very high regard and there is perhaps a sense of regret over how he left.
However, what is also clear is that supporters aren’t keen on Mascherano, with some unable to forget how his move to Barcelona came about.
