Aston Villa fans have been sharing their criticisms for winger Anwar El Ghazi on Twitter.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @Total_Villa shared a post on their page regarding the Dutchman’s injury he picked up in Villa’s recent 2-0 defeat at Southampton.
The page claimed that they wouldn’t be bothered if El Ghazi never played for Villa ever again.
Is El Ghazi good enough to play for Villa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their own similar sentiments on the winger.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans slating El Ghazi:
It’ll be interesting to see what update we receive regarding the injury to Anwar El Ghazi.
If it’s an injury we don’t know about the serious then fair enough.
However, if it’s not then it wouldn’t bother me if we never see him in a Villla shirt again ???? #avfc #SOUAVL pic.twitter.com/qCreExRAEf

I don’t often hope someone has a concussion or some kind of eye injury. But it certainly looks like he had a tantrum and went home.

He is garbage

The 24-year-old has made 29 appearances for Dean Smith’s side in all competitions so far this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists (per Transfermarkt). According to WhoScored, El Ghazi has been Villa’s ninth-best player so far this season with an overall season rating score of 6.69. After the winger latest performance for Villa ending abruptly at St. Mary’s, this then gave a lot of Villa fans the opportunity to slate El Ghazi on Twitter.
I’d genuinely rather not see El Ghazi in a villa shirt again , yesterday was embarrassing #AVFC

Guilbert, Trez, El Ghazi and Douglas. All inconsistent. No passion but we will see how they react to this. It will show whether they want to be at villa or not. #timetostandup @AVFCOfficial

How anyone rates El Ghazi is beyond me.

What do we think?
Although El Ghazi, who is valued at £9 million (as per Transfermarkt), hasn’t been Villa’s best performer so far this season, he has been relatively average without being too bad. It’s understandable why these Villa fans would be hoping for El Ghazi to improve as the club are hovering around the relegation zone.
