In anticipation of Sunderland’s match against MK Dons this Saturday, the club sat down with Lynden Gooch to discuss the game. The player has scored seven goals in 18 league appearances this season. Three of those goals were scored in his last four matches. He also registered his first assist of the season last match, against Wycombe Wanderers (per Transfermarkt).
It is clear from looking at these statistics that Gooch has been a revelation in the last few matches for Phil Parkinson’s side. He is certainly having an influence on the team’s recent unbeaten run. But while his football has been impressive, the fans are loving something else. Despite being from America, the player has begun to pick up a slight Mackem twang in his accent. It appears as though he is becoming a true Sunderland lad.
His accent is class

What do we think?
It is great to see a Sunderland player receiving so much praise from the fans. It could be a huge boost to the players who are looking to surge up the table into a playoff spot before the regular season ends.
