This past Saturday, Rangers Football Club played in a friendly match against Lokomotiv Tashkent. The Gers won the match 6-1, with goals from Jermain Defoe, Sheyi Ojo, Steven Davis, James Tavernier and Greg Stewart (x2).
And while the game was won quite convincingly, many Rangers fans will be more happy about the opportunity the game gave some of Steven Gerrard’s non-starters.
One of the players that fans would have been excited to see was Jordan Jones. The Northern Irish winger hasn’t seen much football this season after injuring himself in the Old Firm at the beginning of September.
The results of the injury were a damaged knee, which has kept him out of Gerrard’s team since. Despite making an appearance on the bench against Kilmarnock on Boxing Day, Jones hasn’t been fit enough to get on the field.
The match against Lokomotiv Tashkent was the perfect opportunity for him to get some minutes. After the match, Jones tweeted out to supporters explaining his excitement to pull the Rangers kit back on. They were thrilled to see him back. Many think he will be an important player for the second half of the season, with some wanting to see him play opposite Ryan Kent.

Do you think Jordan Jones will start during the second half of the season?

Another fan was excited to see him register an assist for the Gers after winning his side a penalty. It was an impressive showing from the winger.

What do we think?
With there being a lot of expectation surrounding Jones, fans will naturally hope to see him feature for a majority of the season’s remaining games. If he can chip in with a few goals and assists, it could be the difference-maker between Rangers winning the league and not.
