Rangers’ assistant coach, Gary McAllister, was in the hot seat this week during the club’s press conference. During the line of inquiry from the reporters, McAllister insisted that a club as big as Rangers would always be looking to make additions to their team.

“A club like Rangers is always looking to improve in every window,” said McAllister (Rangers).

But so far in this window, the club have made no incomings or outcomings, other than making Jermain Defoe’s loan deal from Bournemouth a permanent transfer. The irony of McAllister’s comments were not lost on fans, who demanded to know why no signings had been made. Others admit that it could be too late for the club to bring anyone in at this stage.

Do you think it is too later for Rangers to make crucial singings?

One fans point to Celtic’s transfer dealings as being something Rangers’ recruitment team should strive towards. On the other hand, one fan doesn’t want the club to be pressured into panic buying. He wants to ensure that the right players are brought in.

What do we think?

Rangers are cutting it close if they want to make any kind of serious moves in the transfer window at this point. Hopefully, for the fans, the recruitment team has a few surprises that will contribute to a dramatic last few days of January.
