During Rangers’ press conference on Monday, assistant coach Gary McAllister confirmed that Ryan Jack could be set to miss up to two weeks of football through injury. Jack has been a big part of Steven Gerrard’s squad this season, playing in 33 games, scoring five goals and assisting four.
When this news was confirmed the Rangers fans were gutted. They hate to see one of their key players out for an extended period of time during a crucial part of the season. The injury buildup in the squad is worrying them slightly.

Ryan Jack suffered a reoccurring injury in his calf vs Hearts and will be out of action for 10-14 days, meaning he will miss games vs Ross County, Aberdeen, Hibs & potentially Hamilton. Huge blow. pic.twitter.com/NZ6D4Z5QjZ

We have been pretty fortunate with injuries and suspensions during the first half of the season. Already in the second half we’ve been missing arguably our 3 best players (Tav, Morelos and now Jack). This is a big test of the squad which most don’t think are good enough.

Should Greg Docherty be given a chance in Jack's absence?
Yes
No
Others, while disappointed by the news of Jack’s absence, think this is a brilliant opportunity for Greg Docherty to step up and fill the role. They want to see Gerrard give the young midfielder a chance to prove his worth, especially considering the lack of options in that position right now.
After Kamaras performance and with Ryan Jack being out, maybe this could be a good time to give Greg Docherty his chance, especially at home to Ross County. Someone fresh and someone who will be wanting to prove a point.

Might regret sending some of these players on loan now. Time for Stewart and Docherty to get a chance

Give Docherty a chance to fight for a place in the team

Get mccrorie and docherty back in the squad not much competition for places to push them on, team pretty much picks itself

Well do not even think of letting Docherty leave.

What do we think?
Jack could be a big miss for Rangers during the next two weeks. But, if it does result in a young player finding their feet in a competitive team, there could be a silver lining around this dark cloud.
