The big news on transfer deadline day for Rangers fans was the arrival of Ianis Hagi. The young Romanian joins on loan from Genk and is the son of legend Gheorghe Hagi. His arrival was marked with the young player joining Steven Gerrard for the clubs most recent press conference. During the press conference, Hagi claimed that his father had a large influence on his decision to join the Gers.
“My father told me about this club and I already knew a couple of things, I know how big a club this is and I’m ready to go,” said Hagi (Rangers).
When the fans heard what Hagi Sr. had to say, they were thoroughly impressed. They reckon the old man loves the Gers.

Do you think Ianis Hagi can become as good as his father?
Yes
No
One fan admits that if Ianis is half as good as Gheorghe, then Rangers will have an unbelievably good player on their hands. Another fan admits that, from watching clips, the son has already learned a lot from his father.
If he is half as good as his father was…we have a winner

From the clips I’ve watched, he looks to be fond of rattling the ball from long range, his dad’s obviously coached him on that

What do we think?
Fans will be happy to know that the club has such a good reputation amongst legendary players such as Hagi Sr. Hopefully Hagi Jr. can prove that he has what it takes to reach his father’s level while playing for the Gers. Luckily for Gerrard, Rangers have an exclusive option to buy included in the loan deal.
