Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Steven Bergwijn is ready to feature in this weekends Premier League fixture versus Manchester City – that’s according to Jose Mourinho. Speaking to the media ahead of their clash with last seasons Champions, Mourinho said “I don’t think it will be a problem for him to play some minutes”.
And it appears the supporters are excited by the prospect of seeing their new £27m signing in action on Sunday.
Would you start Bergwijn versus Manchester City?

This is definitely a change from Poch. He’d wait weeks for match fitness or implementing of tactics before he’d use a new signing.

What do we think?
Steven Bergwijn has arrived from PSV Eindhoven with a huge reputation. The Dutchman played 16 times in the Eredivisie this season, providing ten assists and scoring 5 goals. He’ll add great pace, strength, dribbling ability and is perfectly equipped for the counter-attack – therefore his services could prove key at the weekend when Manchester City come to town.
Jose Mourinho’s side are looking to close the gap on Chelsea in fourth place but they will no doubt face a stern test at the weekend. The Spurs faithful may not have got the striker they so desperately wanted this month but they can be excited by the business they have managed – most of all with the acquisition of the Dutchman.
