Rangers Football Club is having an incredibly successful season. After coming in second place nine points behind their rivals last season, Rangers are fully challenging for the title in 2019/2020. They have only lost three games all season, and have just come off the back of an incredible Old Firm win at Parkhead. Much of this success can be put down to Alfredo Morelos, who has scored 12 league goals in 18 appearances, but also left-back Borna Barisic, who has scored two and assisted seven goals in the league in 15 league games.
The Croatian left-back has become a vital part of Steven Gerrard’s side down the left side of the field. This is why when Rangers Bantz relayed that Rangers have put a €10m (£8.5m) price tag on the player (as per LaRoma24).
They can’t believe that they would ask for such a small fee for an international player. Some fans admit that the player is vital to the team’s success this season, and must stay if they have any hope of beating Celtic to the league.

Absolutely no chance we should be considering selling him.
You don’t win anything selling your best players mid-season.

We have no reliable back up in the left back position so selling Barisic would definitely be a bad move for our ambitions this season

He is as important to how we play as alfredo, selling him in January would be a massive mistake

Wont happen, would be madness to sell in this window. League run in plus euros in the summer, his value will only go up

Could Rangers win the league without Borna Barisic?
Yes
No
What do we think?
If Barisic does leave for such a fee, it would provide Rangers with plenty of money to reinvest in their squad, though it does seem like a rather small price. But, as stated by the fans, his absence would be quite noticeable. Hopefully, Gerrard can hold out until the summer, at least, so Barisic can leave with a winner’s medal around his neck.
