Leeds United fans have been reflecting on Twitter over Kemar Roofe’s departure from the club.

This comes after a number of Leeds fans have been recently tweeting their feelings on the striker’s summer exit to Anderlecht.

Of course, this could be down the club’s current striker situation, with Eddie Nketiah departing and the club’s apparent pursuit of Che Adams has got very little chance of happening, which leaves just Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts as the only strikers currently at Marcelo Bielsa’s disposal.

Did Leeds make a mistake allowing Kemar Roofe to leave?

Here’s a sample of Leeds fans tweeting their regret on Roofe’s exit:

The Jamaican left Elland Road in the last summer transfer window to Belgian side Anderlecht for a fee of £5.4 million (per TransferMarkt). The 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £5.85 million according to TransferMarkt, spent three years at Leeds after signing from Oxford United in 2016.

During his time at Leeds, Roofe racked up 122 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals and picking up 14 assists along the way. Since his move to Belgium, Roofe seems to have hit the ground running after scoring seven goals and getting three assists in just 16 appearances (per TransferMarkt).

A number of Leeds fans have been reflecting on their former player on Twitter, with some hoping to see the centre-forward make a return at some point in the future.

What do we think?

Given the reaction on Twitter and the amount of Leeds fans being disappointed that Roofe left the club, that goes to show how highly thought of he was at the club during his time there. Whether or not he will ever make a return to Leeds is something that Roofe will have to decide himself. But what is for certain is that there is a significant number of Leeds fans that would jump at the chance to see Roofe come back to Elland Road.
