After winning the Old Firm on the weekend, Rangers fans will be thrilled with their team’s performance. But with the inconsistent calls made by referee Kevin Clancy during the match, there has been criticism thrown towards the performance of the refereeing team. This week Rangers released a statement pleading with the league to introduce VAR (Rangers).
In the statement, Rangers insisted that their criticism wasn’t with the referees themselves, but instead claimed that the officials needed support in order to make the correct calls. Some fans were unconvinced with the idea of bringing in VAR to the Scottish Premiership. They don’t see the calls changing. One fan suggests bringing in a non-Scottish referee to officiate Old Firm matches instead.
Whats the point, the officials arent poor, they are crooked, and given lawwells power in scottish football no doubt the VAR officials will be crooked as well

We don’t need VAR if you can beat your closets and fiercest rivals on Their own patch even though some bad refereeing decision were made .point being is that we love to moan about the refs it’s part of the game.VAR would spoil it no matter who wins or loses

Another fan pointed to the inconsistencies in the English Premiership’s implementation of VAR. He doesn’t think that the Scottish FA will do a better job.
Biggest issue with VAR in Scotland is it’ll still be run by current regime of Scottish match officials.
In England, it’s actually created more talking points through its introduction.
