The January transfer window is historically a time where teams look to bolster their squad in an attempt to cover for injured or tired players. It is also a time for managers to bring in a player who is going to give their team that extra X-factor needed to meet their season objectives. But sometimes clubs will use this opportunity to move on players who just aren’t making the cut.

According to True Blues Loyal, Steven Gerrard is one of those managers looking to make a few layoffs in January. Jamie Murphy, Greg Docherty, Matt Polster, Glenn Middleton and Andy King all apparently have their names on Gerrard’s chopping block.

Of course, it’s an alleged claim from the account but there was a report a couple of weeks ago that stated that Ross Wilson is looking to complete an overhaul, with Docherty, Middleton, King, Polster and Murphy all mentioned to be facing possible Ibrox exits.

Rangers fans have mixed feelings about some of these players leaving. They recognise that there are a few names on the list that still have a lot of potential.

Are there any players on Gerrard's list who you feel should stay at the club?

One fan admits that he trusts Gerrard and his team. If there are players leaving he suspects that better replacements will be made.

What do we think?

Rangers have a brilliant chance to win their 55th league title this season. Gerrard will be hoping to do everything he can in January to increase his side’s chances of seeing themselves over the finish line in first place.
