Liverpool fans on Twitter have been discussing Adam Lallana’s future at the club.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers if they would offer the midfielder a contract extension or let him leave at the end of the season.
Would you offer Adam Lallana a one-year contract extension?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who think Lallana should leave the club when his current contract runs out at the end of the season.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans not wanting Lallana to get a contract extension:
Think his time is up with #LFC . They want to give him an extension to get something in return rather than lose him for free

Nope. Sorry for him. He‘s apparently a nice guy. However, his injuries robbed him pace and career.

I found it interesting that he’s found fitness and form in this, the last year of his contract. I think it’s best for him to find another club.

The Englishman played 90 minutes in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Merseyside rivals Everton in the third round of the FA Cup at Anfield. Despite playing the entire match, some Liverpool fans on Twitter think Lallana, who is valued at £10.8 million according to TransferMarkt, should leave the club at the end of the season.
No, why now over all this years. It’s the pressure of delivering like everyone in the team. If you don’t perform you are out.

Outstanding performances?
The team has progressed way beyond his ability as a player.
Move him on. There are better players on the market.— Kofi Aboagye (@KopAboagye) January 5, 2020
Should leave . His into his 30s and he simply can’t keep fit . Should have been sold years ago

Sadly playing time is limited so sad as it is I can see him leaving.

Mocked him all summer bc I thought he wasn’t quite good enough, but this season he’s been playing his best since prime 2016 lallana

What do we think?
Now that Lallana is into his thirties and has struggled with injuries in the past, it’s understandable why some Liverpool fans think his time at the club should come to a close. One player that could replace Lallana in midfield if he were to leave would be Sunday’s Anfield hero Curtis Jones.
