Supporters of Everton were left worried that Carlo Ancelotti may have realised that the task at Goodison Park is too gargantuan following the Merseyside derby.
Following the 1-0 defeat at Anfield to a second-string Liverpool team (per BBC), one supporter touted that he was worried that the 60-year-old Italian may realise that the Everton job is ‘too far’ (per @FinKitch), which had other supporters concerned.
Not one of us would be surprised to wake up tomorrow and find out Ancelotti has decided Everton is a job too far

He’s not even hanging around to give us an explanation and I wouldn’t hold it against him. pic.twitter.com/6tc64VCRzI

Surely there is a cooling off period in his contract?? If there is I couldn’t blame him for exercising it. This elite manager has witnessed the worst squad of players he has probably ever had to lead.

Today must have been jaw droppingly terrifying for him. We’re looking at 50% plus losses on nearly everybody we’ve brought in for three years. It’s catastrophic.

Is Carlo Ancelotti able enough to oversee the size of the rebuild that the Everton squad needs?Yes, he's more than capableNo, we're too far gone |
The reaction has come from Toffees supporters following a woeful display against the Reds’ younger players that saw the highest rating awarded in the Everton team a 5/10 for Jordan Pickford (per Liverpool Echo).
With the lowest rating at Anfield coming as a 2/10 performance from Gylfi Sigurdsson, fans felt that the former Real Madrid manager could have already seen enough.
Couldn’t blame him

What do we think?
While this may be a cause for concern for Everton fans, the likelihood of it actually happening is probably very unlikely. It was a disappointing performance, yes, but there were plenty of positives in his opening two games.
Just like it should work vice versa, a manager is unlikely to judge a club until after at least one or two transfer windows. Ancelotti will have known the size of his task when he took the job on.
